Father’s Day

Every year as Father’s Day approaches, I find myself wondering “What does it mean to be a good father?” I look back on my childhood and think about my father; and how I’ve been with my three children.
 
Different men have different upbringings and ideas about how to be a good father. I learned a lot about parenting from my father. He taught me about integrity, patience and unconditional love. He taught me how to take care of myself, the value of hard work, and to have a sense of humor . He was always a good provider for his family and has worked hard his entire life to be secure. This is the example he set, this is my foundation, and this is what I have passed on to my kids.
 
I love being a son. I’m fortunate to still have my father. We’re very close – He is not only my father, but my mentor and my friend ; and I cherish every moment we spend together.
 
I love being a father. My children are my world. I have two sons and a daughter, and I’m proud of each and every one of them. My boys, now in there early and mid twenties, have grown to become ambitious young men. They both spent their summers growing up working at one of my construction sites, drugstores, or even a Carefree. My oldest son, K-Lynn, graduated from college 2 years ago and is fortunate to work for one of the top brokerage houses. Kris, my second oldest son, has his own business in landscaping (one of the passions he inherited from me) and works on the commercial property team in my office. My daughter, Kennedi, is now in her early teens, and excels at everything she does. She already is showing signs of sharing the family trait of being an entrepreneur and is passionate about saving the earth.
